We are looking for an Machine Learning and Robotic Vision Specialist to join our Product Development Team. 

As a Machine Learning Specialist, you will be contributing to the development activities for new features and services. You will be responsible of implementing operational workflows for our AI development team, making them evolve to adapt to needs. The ideal candidate will have a solid experience of running machine learning operations, as well as setting up the tools implied in the associated workflows. 

At YK-Robotics we study, design and develop advanced robotic applications for manufacturing clients currently located in Italy and Spain. As a robotic engineer it is expected for you to work in close collaboration with our project managers in the design and optimization of the processes to be automated, the design and development of the software and the commissioning of the robotic cells at our client locations. All our projects embed our developing platform, based on ROS2, that allows to configure, program and monitor the automated processes rapidly and efficiently. 

In addition, your work as a robotic engineer will allow you to collaborate with the product team to include new marketable innovative functionalities to simplify and optimize the usage of advanced robotic systems (e.g. optimization of trajectory planning, potential-field-based strategies,…). 

Ultimately, you will contribute to the efficiency of our business by providing your skills and ideas working with the whole team.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement machine learning algorithms to enhance the intelligence and autonomy of our robotic platform.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate machine learning solutions into the core functionalities of the robotic system. 
  • Analyze and preprocess data for training and validation of machine learning models. 
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in machine learning and robotics to bring cutting-edge solutions to our platform. 

Requirements

  • Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, or related field. 
  • OpenCV 
  • Experience in visual servoing (hand-calibration, point-cloud scene reconstruction) 
  • Visual based quality control and difect detection (real industrial scenarios) 
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Python and relevant machine learning libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch). 
  • Experience in working with large datasets and data preprocessing. 
  • Experience in working with NVIDIA Hardware 
  • Problem-solving skills to address challenges related to real-world robotic applications. 
  • Great attitude in team-working  
  • Excellent verbal communication skills 
  • Attention to detail 
  • English proficiency, at least B2 

Nice to have

  • Publications in renowned machine learning or robotics conferences. 
  • Experience with robotics simulation tools.
  • Familiarity with ROS (Robot Operating System). 
  • Working-in-a-startup experience
