We are looking for a junior mechatronics/mechanical engineer to join the mechatronics team. Successful candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of experience in design and production of mechatronic devices. 

At YK-Robotics we are designing, producing and installing a wide variety of robotic cells empowered by our special sauce: a software that allows any stakeholder to re-configure and re-program the robotic cells in autonomy. 

As a junior mechatronics engineer we expect you to work on the definition of specifications, CAD design of robotic cells layouts and components such as custom grippers or storages, contribute to simulate robotic processes together with our robotic team, help handling component selection and furniture and contribute to the supervision and production of the robotic cells both in Tuscany and at our clients locations.

Main Responsibilities

  • Design robotic cells layouts guaranteeing client specifications
  • Designing robotic cell custom components such as grippers or storages
  • Simulation of robotic cell processes
  • Contributing to the production of robotic cells (some hands-on work to be expected)
  • Contribution to selection of mechatronics and pneumatics components for the robotic cells
  • Contribution to the robotic cell startup at our clients’ locations

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering or similar
  • A minimum of 2 years’ of professional experience
  • Proficient use of SolidWorks
  • Experience with 3D printing and Prototyping
  • Experience with mechanical, electrical and pneumatics design
  • Experience in technical drawings
  • Experience in design for manufacturing
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Team player
  • Open to transfers in Italy

Nice to have

  • Team leader experience
  • 5 years’ experience
  • Experience in SolidWorks API automation is a strong plus
  • Proven track record in mechanical supplier management
  • Theoretical Robotics background
  • Previous experience in Robot programming
  • English B2
